The project

The London office of international investment bank Blackrock is a 13 story building in the heart of the city. The building’s stepped form provides terraces on the fifth, ninth, and 12th floor, which feature both client areas and a multi-function suite.

The Outdoor Deck Company were contracted to supply and install nearly 300 m2 of replacement decking across 4 terraces. The old decking was taken up and replaced with hidden-fix decking, using the system of rails and pedestals from Grad, with compatible 120mm Thermo Ash boards with ‘sure step’ carborundum grip strip inserts.

The decks incorporated service hatches made with universal fixings to complete the seamless look across the terrace.

As the building is already in use, the installation was limited to weekend-only hours and there were limitations on loading and access.
