Project Description
Located in London's Isle of Dogs, South Quay Plaza is a major mixed-use development designed to transform the area surrounding Canary Wharf. Alongside luxury residential accommodation, retail space and extensive public realm improvements, the scheme includes a range of resident amenities, including 'The Bamboo Sanctuary' on Level 18 – a wellness spa with three outdoor hot tubs and external terrace areas overlooking the revitalised docklands.
For the spa’s external spaces, The Outdoor Deck Company supplied Bamboo X-treme decking on the Grad hidden-fix system, supported by Buzon DPH pedestals. Bamboo X-treme was also used to create decorative slatted features throughout the space. With the terrace exposed to the elements and forming part of a spa environment, slip resistance was an important consideration for the decking area. To enhance underfoot safety, grip strips were incorporated into the bamboo deck boards, providing the required level of traction in both wet and dry conditions.
